Valerie J. Gluth, PT, Owner graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Health Sciences of Chicago Medical School in 1979. Specializing in orthopedic physical therapy since 1980, Valerie completed her orthopedic residency in Northern California at the Physical Therapy Residency Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Hayward, California in 1987.
Since 1987, Valerie has taught manual therapy courses on evaluation and treatment of spinal and peripheral joint disorders, and served as an assistant instructor teaching nationwide on mobilization of the nervous system and the evaluation and treatment on neural tissue disorders with the Neuro-Orthopedic Institute, an international education group directed by Australian Physical Therapist David Butler. Valerie has developed and teaches continuing education courses to physical therapists and physical therapy assistants on treatment techniques of the spine and extremities and lumbar stabilization exercises.
In 1999, Valerie completed her certification in The Balanced Body Method of Pilates-based exercise through Polestar Education, directed by Elizabeth Larkin, M.A. and Brent Anderson, P.T. and has been teaching classes ever since. Valerie has also developed exercise programs utilizing the gym ball and teaches classes at Evergreen's Buchannan Recreation Center.
Since 1992 Valerie has lived and worked in Evergreen, Colorado. For more than 12 years, Valerie owns, serves as President and operates an independent outpatient physical therapy practice, Mountain View Physical Therapy -- well respected in the community.
Specializing in orthopedic manual therapy and Pilates-based exercises for both rehabilitation and fitness, Valerie's clinic provides spinal evaluation and treatment, total joint replacements, peripheral joint rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation of spine and extremities, sport-related injuries and nerve pathology and treatment, among other rehabilitation vehicles.
Additionally, the scan and fit for custom orthotics is a specific service of Mountain View Physical Therapy. Valerie has attended and participated in many seminars and conferences across the country in connection with orthotics fitting and fabrication, sole supports and advanced clinical training in Biomechanics and Orthotics, and the application of automation for an effective and profitable custom orthotics business.
Valerie was appointed a Board Member for five years for the national Private Practitioner Physical Therapist network, and served a two-year term as Board Member for the local Colorado Private Practitioner Physical Therapist network. Valerie is a Member of the American Physical Therapy Association -- Private Practice and Orthopedic sections.
